As part of the preparation of refugees, they take part in the cultural orientation course organised by COA. The course is aimed at helping them understand and deal with practical, social and cultural issues once they have been found homes in the Netherlands.
In co-operation with COA I developed a book which is handed out to the refugees. The photos I have made illustrate the subjects which come forward during the orientation course. Most photos are the starting point of an informative discussion about Dutch society. The book itself is the first tangible contact with their future homecountry.
